ethiopian girls

Question Posted Saturday March 10 2007, 12:58 pm

2 ethiopian sisters came to my school. Someone managed to take them out of their home and get them to a safer place. They don't know english. Only 'Hi'.

And there's this group of black girls who keep attacking them I guess. They fought with them.. for basically.. no reason.

These two girls didn't do anything! Should I go to the office and tell them that they need a security person watching out for them?

I don't know what to do.. but I don't want people physically hurting them. I mean ... words won't hurt if you don't understand.

First of all, bravo for realizing that someone is mistreating these two girls. I, personally, think that you should definitely talk to some sort of adult; but at the same token, don't advertise that it's you who's helping these girls. You don't want to jeapordize your own safety. When choosing an adult, you should choose someone with higher authority. Like the principal (like you suggested earlier!)... but don't take immediate action. Make sure that whoever you're talking to, you trust not to get you, or those girls into any MORE trouble. I don't think that these girls need security guards... but maybe the principal should talk to these girls... and have the teachers on the look-out for any sort of trouble that they could potentially be getting into. I hope that this helped you!

If you feel their safety is at risk & they can't see it (merely because they don't speak English), YES do the girls a favor & report it to a teacher or principal. That kind of crap should not be tolerated at all.

I suggest you go to the school principal. Violence is unacceptable. Not sure if this is a hate crime or just mean, hateful bullies.
school should be a safe place for learning not a place to get beat up for no reason. These sisters deserve better. They deserve an education.
The sisters can file a law suit in civil court if they continue to get attacked. Not only do they have the right to file a law suit against the people who are attacking them but also the school because the school has to be aware of the problem and the school has done nothing.
Some authority figure in your school should know about this immediately.

Yes, you should most definitely tell someone.
