Belly button peircing Why is it that i'm not allowed to change my belly button ring for 6 months after i got it done? Would somthing bad happen if i did (it's about a month later)? If i did it really carefully and made sure it was really clean.

Taking it out too early aggravates the healing piercing.
I've learnt from this in the past by cleaning one of mine too much, then developing a nasty bump on it for MONTHS. it really wasn't nice..
If for some necessary reason you must change your piercing, always go back to your piercer to do it for you. Because sometimes, the holes close straight away. It would be a bit of a bummer if you were on your own and did it.. and didn't have a specialist to help re-pierce it, wouldn't it :P ]
Well I have a facial piering, but it's the same reason.
You leave the piercing in, in order for it to heal, the constant changing of piercings may cause an infection if it isn't properly sanatized.
Keeping in the orignal for a while insures that the piercing is properly put in and sanatized.
You may not want to wait six months, but if you feel the piercing is helaed and not still fresh and you disinfect the new ring, it should be alright. ]
I have my belly button pierced too. i would say to wait 2 months then if you really want to change it, when you take the new ring your gonna put in clean it w/ bactine, the put neosporin on the top and bottom of the hole. when you go to put the new on in lie on your back, it will make it easier to go through the hole. p.S. don't change it to much after that until it has healed. ]
Ok i'm not gonna lie to you. I've had mine pierced 6 months now, but i changed it for the first time after 1 month. My friend did after one month as well. I just quickly put the new one in and had no problem. It did hurt a little but changing it, but no big deal. I've never had any problem with it, no infections or anything. You're always safer to follow their directions, but in my opinion, after something has been in you for a month strraight, it's not gonna immediately grow it when it's out for a few seconds while you change it. It's your choice.
Oh, and you wouldn't have trouble finding the piercing.. it's pretty think. Can't miss it.
Good luck! ]
If you change it out you may not be able to find the place it was pierced and it also starts to hurt, and it may close up or become infected if you don't do what they told you. ]
