pain in chest
i have very bad pain where my rib cages meets ( i think its called my sternum?) sometimes it feels like its swollen. any idea of what it is??? the odd time i will also feel like my throat is swollen and i cannot swallow

The best thing is to go to the doctor, who may give you a chest X-ray and check-up. You should explain all of your symptoms. I don't know the severity of your pain, but this could be symptoms of bronchitis, which sometimes follows a cold. Sometimes excessive stress from working out can cause this.
Have you coughed a lot recently? The stress from coughing could also affect chest pains. In any case, there's no way for me, or anyone else on this website, to diagnose you. This is probably a minor problem, but nonetheless one that only a doctor can diagnose and help out with.
