i have very bad pain where my rib cages meets ( i think its called my sternum?) sometimes it feels like its swollen. any idea of what it is??? the odd time i will also feel like my throat is swollen and i cannot swallow

I don't know the severity of your pain, but this could be symptoms of bronchitis, which sometimes follows a cold. Sometimes excessive stress from working out can cause this.
Have you coughed a lot recently? The stress from coughing could also affect chest pains. In any case, there's no way for me, or anyone else on this website, to diagnose you.
