Question Posted Tuesday February 20 2007, 1:46 pm

Ive been together with my boyfriend for 4 and a half months now. We talked about us both being ready to make love. Theirs just one thing holding me back. He has condoms but I dont feel comfortable with just that i heard the pill can give you cancer so I was woundering what else I could do to be safe. I dont want to tell my mom i know she'll ruin the experiance for me.

Even if you get on birth control, you should still use condoms. Condoms are the only thing that will protect you from getting STDs.

Also, if birth control caused cancer, it wouldn't be available to buy.

hey, well theres nothing else that you can do besides use condoms and birth control. birth control is safe and a lot of women use it around the world. its prescribed for brutally bad periods and not getting pregnant. here is some facts on birth control.

The pill will definetly not give you cancer, if it did, no one would use it. If you dont want your mom to know, then go to any planned parenthood and they will give you birth control. No other forms of birth control are as effective as the pill and the condom, so i suggest you use one or the other, or even better, both. Whoever told you the pill will give you cancer, is wrong. The pill is a very safe and effective form of birthcontrol.
