orphans answered Tuesday February 20 2007, 12:08 pm: theres nothing wrong, birds can lay unfertalised eggs, but they wont have a chick in them as there wasnt a male bird around. sound to me you have a pair of lesbian birds on your hand. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
MAK answered Monday February 19 2007, 2:10 pm: there is nothing wrong with your birds.
they can lay unfertilized eggs, a male is not needed to lay an egg (but a male is needed to fertilize it)
as for them having sex they are probably in their mating season, and are following their natural instincts to mate. they dont really care who they mate with.
i suggest you throw away the eggs or else they will go bad, and your birds will keep on sitting on them because theyll think that they will hatch. [ MAK's advice column | Ask MAK A Question ]
