Question Posted Saturday February 10 2007, 2:20 pm
I have a winter formal coming up, and I would really like to loose a lot of weight quickly. Which foods should I eat, and how many calories should I eat each day? I'm 14, and weigh 90 pounds, but that's because I'm super short and have like no muscle. I really would like to get a lot healthier because I eat a lot of junk food. Any help would be greatly appreciated =]

Eat a diet high in protein and calories to put on muscle. Tone and definition (not like womens body bulder status tho haha) are much more appealing to look at than super skinny girls. If you dont have access to a gym, do cruchnes with your feet at a 45 degree angle and try running. But this is easier at a gym with a ton of machines to work out on. brokenheart456 answered Saturday February 10 2007, 5:17 pm: Hey, you don't need to lose anymore weight! im 13 and i weigh 105 lbs, and poeple think im really thin! and im 5'1", which is kind of short for my age. if you want to gain some lean muscle, do some light weightlifting.
to eat healthier gradually cut down on the amount of junk food in your diet. i foudn a good trick in a teen magazine (actually two): 1. count to your age before you chow down on chocolate, and see if you still want it or not. if you do, try waiting 30 minutes to see if your cravings for junk food go away.
hope i helped!

pockets answered Saturday February 10 2007, 4:11 pm: If you're 90 pounds, you don't need to lose weight, but you probably need to tone up. Work out, eat 5 small meals a day, and drink water. 100 crunches at night and go for a 30 minute jog every day. [ pockets's advice column | Ask pockets A Question ]
LM answered Saturday February 10 2007, 3:13 pm: Okay. Unless you're two feet tall, you do NOT need to lose weight. Eating less junkfood and exercising more will improve your health and appearance, regardless of your weight. To accomplish this, just start eating better! Limit soda as much as you can. Drink more water, lowfat milk, and juice instead. You'll feel AND look better- you won't be consuming all those empty calories! Healthy snacks are an easy switch too. Instead of coming home and eating Cheetos and chips, have something healthy: granola, corn chips and salsa (not the greatest, but a lot better than potato chips and onion dip!), veggies and dip, trail mix, celery with peanut butter, or half a sandwich, to name a few healthier options.
As for exercise, take a few minutes each day and just get moving! You don't have to be training for a marathon. Walk to a friends house instead of getting a ride, or go for a short run (cold weather won't kill you, just wear a coat!). Little changes will make a big difference.
