Despite the myth, which is very prevalent here on advicenators, fat loss cannot be targetted. The human body works in such a way that it can only generally lose weight. The fat is pulled off from your whole body, and genetics influence if certain areas remain bigger or smaller than others. The only way to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit, so area specific exercises (which dont burn a lot of calories) are less important than cardio, full body workouts etc.
That being said, weight training is great exercise and can be a valuable part of staying fit. I would encourage anyone to do it. However, it should involve the whole body not just specifc areas. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]
