Think its okay for me to go to prom dressed as a girl?

Question Posted Monday February 5 2007, 5:47 pm

17/m
I now realize that I would much rather be a girl than a guy. I think it would be really cool to go to prom dressed as a girl. Think people would get pissed or would it be okay. If I do go, any hints about what I should wear? Thanks

Honestly, if you went to my school & came to my prom dressed as a chick, I'd think it was hilarious. It'll get both positive & negative attention. But that's the best part. You'll be the talk of your school for years. And who cares what people think. But you might be kicked out of the prom until you change your attire, so if you wear a dress, you might wanna have a tux in your car as backup.

if you want to go dressed as a girl then you better be ready to be talked about BIG TIME.You have to be ready to accept all the shit theyre gonna say about you and all the guys that are gonna pick on you for it.They might even take pics and use it against you.If you have no problem with that and you can stand your ground then...dress as a girl. But why should you dress as a girl? You can wear a suit and look great!

Yeah, you'll piss the majority of people off and they'll talk alot of shit and stare at you, but who cares, that's the best part.

The only con is the possibility that you might be kicked out of the prom (thanks to the large quantity of oversheltered conservative teachers).

Maybe wear a pink suit?

good luck
maybe they'll be accepting.
unless you live in a hick-ass town like mine,
where everyone thinks gays, bis, gender-change, and piercings, are retarded.
But no matter what, please yourself, not the world.
Either your friends will accept you and your decisions, or they're not good friends.
Best of luck (no advice on what to wear)

I think that's great and good luck, i don't know your school, but hopefully the people are nice and openminded enough to not be cruel, and if they are just get over it, it's just because they don't realize how normal it is to be a different gender than you were born, so w/e

I suggest not wearing something over the top, like don't wear a super bright ugly color like super hot pink or bright orange or something that will make you stand out and look like a drag queen instead of what you actually are.

also since you were born a guy, you probably have broader shoulders and less hips than most girls so i suggest not wearing something that has a tube top design, and maybe try to find a dress with an empire waist? something that gets closer in the middle to give the illusion of curves.

also don't wear heels if you are already really tall

have fun! :)

Of course people would get upset and think it's weird. It shouldn't matter what other people think though, but that's much easier said than done (at least in my opinion). If you're comfortable enough with yourself to do something like this, then I'd do it.If people are smart, they would respect you for it.I know that I would, and I wish I was comfortable enough with myself to do it.

As what you should wear,I don't really know. It's hard since I don't know what your style is like, but just look around and see what interest you.I would go for something that's somewhat simple but dressy at the same time, but that's just me.
