Shortcake22 answered Saturday January 27 2007, 10:38 pm: I've been told that 6-8 lbs is the average amount of weight you need to lose to go down a size. Like from a 12 to an 11. so then you would need to lose *Roughly* 24-32 lbs to get into that size. Which is either impossible or unhealthy in that short amount of time. Now, thats scientifically speaking. You could, perhaps, get down to a size 10, and hope the size 8 fit. But, you also could be worrying for nothing. It might run big and fit you as you are, or it could run small, and you would have worked yourself to death for nothing. So, I'd say Jog or power walk 3-5 times a week for 30 minutes, working your way up as you get more inshape. Drink lots of water, and eat healthy. No midnight sweet tooths! =) You should start seeing results soon. They may not be drastic, but they will be beneficial. Even if the dress doesn't fit, there's nothing wrong with being healthy!
Don't stress about it though, seriously. Whatever happens, things will work out. I'm sure you can just exchange it if it doesn't fit!

I'm a size 9 minimum but i wore a dress that was a size 3 for homecoming... it depends on the dress so you might be worrying over nothing. i think you'll be fine. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
kiran answered Saturday January 27 2007, 9:24 pm: I don't think there is a possible way to do that. But you can talk to your boyfriend that you are a size 12 and he can tell your mom and they can exchange it. [ kiran's advice column | Ask kiran A Question ]
twistedsister17 answered Saturday January 27 2007, 9:20 pm: It's nearly impossible to do that. I'm sorry to say this, but I just don't want you getting your hopes up. First of all, you are probably beautiful just the way you are, and there's NOTHING wrong with being a size 12. Even starving yourself will NOT make you lose that much weight, that fast. Actually by starving yourself, you could gain even MORE weight. The fact that your boyfriend's mom got you a dress in a size 8, I would take that as a compliment, but if I were you, I would nicely say that it's the wrong size. Thank his mom for the dress and say, "It was really sweet of you-especially since you thought I was a size 8! I'm flattered, but I'm actually a size 12."
You can still work out if you want. You don't neccessarily have to work out to lose weight. You can work out just to be healthier. But you really should start out slow. Taking walks, dancing to some music you like, or repetetively walking/running up and down the stairs are great to start out with. [ twistedsister17's advice column | Ask twistedsister17 A Question ]
askkatie answered Saturday January 27 2007, 9:07 pm: Sorry to say this, but I seriously doubt you can get down to a size 8 in just a few short weeks. It takes weeks just to see the slightest results!
What would be best for everyone is maybe if you told your boyfriend that it's the wrong size, his mother can take it back and exchange it for a the right size.
