Ok, so im not talking about losing a ton of weight or anything like that. I just want to like trim down my size. I'm 16 and i play volleyball, soccer and i occaisonially swim competitvely. I have really muscular legs and yes i know that is important for playing sports but i just really hate it because my legs look HUGE. like for volleyball games, wearing spandex..ahh i just hate it...what are some things i can do do like trim down my muscle i guess
It's hard to trim down muscles especially if you are athletic. The best is you could reduce those sports which add bulk to your legs.
Try to avoid sports which builds up bulk in your calves such as running and brisk walking. If you want to even out your muscles, you can do swimming or cycling. Do exercises that makes you feel the stretch in your entire legs rather than just in the calves. [ clarayow's advice column | Ask clarayow A Question ]
Sabine answered Monday January 15 2007, 7:50 pm: The way to trim down muscular legs is to not use them. When the muscle atrophies, your legs will get smaller. Is it worth it? Probably not. You can't burn fat from a specific area of your body. If you lose weight, you will likely lose fat from your breasts and glut area and thighs equally. Also, remember that muscles help us burn our fat. They are one of the regulators in our metabolism. The more muscle you lose, the less efficient your metabolism will be. I know it's not what you want to hear, but there are many, many types of bodies and we should see beauty in the variety. I would start doing light weights for added muscle definition, but not heavy weights, which add bulk. Hope I helped.

Yes, it does burn some fat, but it also builds up more muscle in your legs. And from what you have said, you don't want to do that. I have the same problem, I have muscular legs too. The best thing to do is just keep up the muscle. You don't want that muscle turning into fat. That will make it ALOT worse.
greekgodess1991 answered Monday January 15 2007, 7:14 pm: i have the same problem, and i learned the hard way! I hope you dont mind me giving you some advice. If you have not already, you should cut out most if not all of your high fat intake( fries, burgers, most things deep fired) because this goes right to your thighs, I should know! lol Try eating more healty foods, or even foods that are baked! you can have fries, just bake them instead of deepfrying them. You should work out as much as possible, especially doing things like walking, because thats where most of our problems are, in the legs! Do calve raises, they are really easy and burn more leg fat! and you would be surprised, cutting thing out of your diet like pop and stuff high in sugar can really help to. Remember to drink lots of water! lol [ greekgodess1991's advice column | Ask greekgodess1991 A Question ]
