MelLeDisko answered Monday January 15 2007, 6:06 pm: It didn't hurt me at all. It maybe felt a little strange, because you know the braces are so tight, it feel like they're taking a tooth out ( not pain wise ) it's just that since your teeth won't be so locked together cause of the braces and tight, they feel alot looser.
deathwillcome answered Monday January 15 2007, 5:50 pm: for me it just felt like they were were pulling my teeth a little and then it stopped, plus they felt a bit loose...I got a retainer after...but yeah...I hope that I helped, and remember, my inbox is always open. You don't have to rate, but it would be nice. Thanks! [ deathwillcome's advice column | Ask deathwillcome A Question ]
tinkerbelle92 answered Monday January 15 2007, 5:21 pm: ok well i think that it hurt way more getting them on! So you dont have to go through that again!
When you get them off, they take all the colored elastics off, and then they take the wire off. That doesn't hurt at all.
Then they have to pull the braces off. This didnt hurt me, but it just kind of took me by surprise. It just had kind of a funny feeling to it.
The main thing that hurts is if they have to take the rough parts off of your teeth. For this they use like a mini tooth saw. LOL it didnt really hurt either, it just makes a loud sound that is really annoying.
So it really isnt that bad i promise! and besides, the results after are amazing! Dont be too worried about it, it is just one day of your life, and after it, you will be so happy with the results!

ductape_n_roses answered Monday January 15 2007, 5:06 pm: It didn't hurt when they pulled mine off. BUt it feels really awkward. Haha anyways, they just pull the little metal things off one by one and it only takes less than 10min..
triciaXterror answered Monday January 15 2007, 4:57 pm: Heyy. :]
I've gotten them on, then off, then got them on, then off AGAIN. so i'm pretty much a pro ;]
anyways. orthodontists do it differently. my first orthodontist just kind pulled them off. it sounds worse than it hurts though. it might hurt for a moment when the brace is being yanked off, but it goes away quickly. it might hurt a tiny bit after the fact, but you'll be so glued to a mirror you wouldn't have time to notice ;]
one of my orthodontists put numbing stuff on it, but it's not that big of a difference because it doesn't hurt that bad.
don't worry about it. just be excited & get ready to look gorgeous! <3
