16/f. My boyfriend writes music and he's pretty good at it. However, one of his more recent songs was pretty disturbing-- it was about another girl, a girl "see around school". He's never written a song for me before.
he assures me that it means nothing, that is was the only thing he could think of (that worries me in itself) at the moment, and that he wants to be with me not her.
Should I believe him? Is this any real cause for concern? Because it's really hurting me, I don't want to leave him but I'm starting to think maybe I should.
angieroonie answered Wednesday January 10 2007, 10:01 pm: That Certainly is a problem.he might just have a crush on her, but that's no good if you are in a serious relationship... he might just find it hard to write about what he really knows, thats common in singers and writers. he might not be able to find the words for what he's feeling.
i cant tell you to dump him or stay with him, thats for you to decide, but if you have doubts maybe there isn't enough trust, a relationship without trust will never work! [ angieroonie's advice column | Ask angieroonie A Question ]
Imperialistic answered Wednesday January 10 2007, 8:30 pm: Honestly, in all probability, it's nothing.
I write poetry and it's about a lot of random stuff. I write about death and being in love, even though I haven't been in love for a while and no one close to me has died. I pick up on movies, other songs and things that people say to make my poems.
You should also look at the context of the rest of his songs. Are they usual about everyday events? Another possibility is that he is recalling the days when you hadn't started going out yet. [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]

If I were you though I'd sit him down and really talk to him tell him whats on your mind and thats its really worrying you and your thinking about leaving him. Just explain to him your feels and hopeuflly he'll tell you whats going on in his head and things will work out for the best. [ soccergurlie1220's advice column | Ask soccergurlie1220 A Question ]
xyourheart answered Wednesday January 10 2007, 6:07 pm: The inspiration for songs can come in many forms, he is telling you it means nothing, than I think you should believe & trust him. As long as he knows how you feel about it, maybe ask him to write a song about you, or if he has ever though about writing one about you, maybe tell him how much you'd like it if he did & stuff.
Take a time out & just think, trust your feelings.

trlblzr4u answered Wednesday January 10 2007, 5:45 pm: Sometimes inspiration comes in many forms. If he's assured you that it doesn't mean anything then why does it bother you? The reason that you might be looking to not be with him is because you might be insecure of your relationship with him yourself. So take a moment for yourself and figure out if you do want to stay in a realationship with him and what it is for you. Trust your feelings, that's all you have and it usually is right.
