i've had sex maybe three times and once i shaved my pubes and then i got these red bumps that are too small to look like razor burns where i shaved...there aren't any of these bumps near the inside of my vagina but i have three red bumps towards the top part of where the pubic hair is...
i'm scared that they're herpes or some other untreatable infection. they don't itch and i'm scared to go to my doctor...would i have to a specialist?
any idea what it is and what i can get to treat it like creams and what not?
please help...
Michele answered Wednesday January 10 2007, 8:01 am: Hi HOney,
I can understand your concern, and hopefully I can help. Herpese can start out as three small read bumps. Or it can look like a rash, and cover a larger area, or it can be just one sore, and sort of look like a blister until the blister breaks. Mostly herpes is very painful. The sore is very uncomfortable, and while you can get through the day, anything that touches it or rubs against it gives you a constant reminder that you have a herpes outbreak. If these sores are not painful, then most likely they are not herpes. They may infact be a razor rash, because the skin in that area is much more sensitive that the skin on your legs. For future reference, there is no way to prevent herpes if you have unprotected sex with a person who is experiencing outbreaks, so short of really getting to know the person you are with, it will be hard to avoid it all your life. People who have herpes are sometimes not aware, or don't care if they infect other people. TO manage herpes, because it cannot be cured, you can take 1000 mg of lysine each day, keep your immune system healthy, avoid stress, and treat the sores with apple cider vinegar. Place a cotton ball soaked in apple cider vinegar directly on the sore, it will sting at first, but you'll be pain free later and have shorter outbreaks. Many people say this "cures" herpes, but there is no clinical evidence of that. Lysine is a vitamin that is availble in most drug stores. I don't recomment the prescription Acylovir, as it has other side affects, and you would have to see a doctor to get a prescription for it. Most likely you don't have herpes, but please be careful. It is a virus and highly contageous and cannot be cured, only managed.
Good luck dear.

amanda_bear answered Tuesday January 9 2007, 9:13 pm: it is prolly razor bumps because i had them when i first started shaving my pubes too. and after a couple times they went away. you just have to do it frequently and not let the hair grow back or you will keep getting razor burn. but it also may be serious. I have also had sex 3 times and i know that mine werent anything serious or the guys that i had se with would prolly kill me. so dont be to worried about it. but if you are just go to a walk in clinic and they will check it out for you. and do this before you have sex again because then if it is serious you could give it to your partner(*s). i try to help but if you dont take my advice that is fine also. Depressed_Poet answered Tuesday January 9 2007, 7:36 pm: I'm pretty sure it's only from shaving your pubes unless you have had sex recently and the bumps showed up immediately (as in a day) after or sooner. I don't have much to tell you about herpes but visit the website coolnurse.com it might explain the process and tell you how to prepare yourself and what to be expecting. Don't worry! I shave my pubic area too and I get a couple of bumps occassionally and when the pubes grow back it tends to get a little itchy. Don't worry, but you should still talk to a doctor. There is no substitute! I hope everything works out, and don't get too worked up about things. You could have herpes but I don't think you do. They haven't come out with a cure yet that I know of, and I think it stays with you your whole life. I'm sorry to hear it if you have herpes, I hope everything goes well! Good luck!
