Ask about grade, teachers, classes... Then, you can move onto the more general stuff, like interests and background. Think of school as your gateway topic. 0NEL0VEEx answered Sunday January 7 2007, 8:58 pm: well since you see him around school, you could start off talking about that =]. say, "hey i've seen you at my school.. what grade are you in?" then you can talk about teachers or something or just anything you have in common.. ask him if he plays any sports or if you want, ask him what school he goes to- even though you already know he goes to yours.. it can get a conversation started =] lets say you see him wearing a shirt with a band on it.. you could comment about the band! or whatevers on his shirt. or, just simply say "nice shirt =]" but only if it's something special.. like if he's wearing a plain, dirty boring white t-shirt.. then you might look dumb. comment on something he's wearing or something he has with him. like lets say he carries a guitar, say "you play the guitar? that must be hard" or if he carries a basketball bag or some sport bag "ask him what sports he plays" just make some kind of comment.. say anything that you could normally say to strike up a conversation with anyone else =] & good luck!! ♥ [ 0NEL0VEEx's advice column | Ask 0NEL0VEEx A Question ]

what i would do if i were you.
is one morning on the train.
just go over to him&be like.
"hey, dont you go to my school?"
&then that would get a conversation started up.
&then like when he answer&all tell him yr name.
&all like that.
then get to know him some more.
&when you do get to know him a lot.
like realy good.
ask to hang out sometime.

Usually if someone approaches a stranger on the train the person is bound to react in a negative way. To avoid that you should say "Excuse me but I noticed you in the halls at school." Ask his name and introduce yourself. Hopefully it goes well as you have a legitimate excuse to talk to him.
Talk about your classes and his if the conversation keeps going and things are well and then give him an e-mail address and leave it up to him to make the next move. I'm sure you will do fine when trying to talk to him on the train but do not be discouraged if he doesn't want to talk back.
It can happen and if it did it's his problem not yours. I'm sure you will find lots of intelligent things to discuss once you get past the introduction and the question I mentioned above that you should ask him first to get him to talk with you.
