I love hollister. Torn mini skirts with uggs and leg warmers and a cute sweater is my fave outfit. But a lot of people I dont pull off the "prep" look? Is that even possible? Ugh, and why do people even CARE what I wear..is it really their business to tell me what I should and should not wear.

They're just HATERS to the max! Dude, who cares what they say, you are you, and nothing else. Saying that you don't fit a certain style is sooooo shallow and ignorant that it's unbelievable. I shop at stores that have completely different stlyes and listen to almost all genres of music but I'm no poser! It just means that you're well rounded. Don't feed in to what other people say...vulnerability just shows weakness. You are you, no label, no tag, no nothing...just you! And even though it may sound cliche, that's what sets you apart from everyone else. I really hope I helped!

It doesn't matter if you pull off the prep look off or not. All that matters is being yourself & loving yourself for who you are & not what people want you to be. Your best friend & the other people are more than likely jealous if they have to say ignorrant stuff like that. You're right though, it's none of their business to tell you what you should wear, don't listen to them. I think that outfit sounds adorable & it's something I would wear. I listen to "emo" bands, too. I more than likely get judged like anyone else in school does but I don't care. As long as you have confidance, no one can bring you down.

When I think that about other girls - it's usually because they're makeup just doesn't go with what they're wearing. Do something simple with that kindof clothing. A little eyeliner and some mascara. Or I think that way because they're pale, and Hollister mini skirts show a bit of skin. And it all makes me think "That person just threw on those clothes but didn't bother with anything else.
But if you're one of those girls who used to dress differently than the Hollister look, people say that. You just keep wearing and doing what you're doing and eventually they'll back off.
And calling bands Emo. That's kindof what they all are - emo is a genre of music. People are taking it to a clothing style and getting the wrong idea of it all. If you look under emo genre, My Chemical Romance is under there.
Just keep doing what you feel comfortable in and they'll leave you alone.

either way, you should just take it as a compliment

its your body, not theirs. they cant tell you how to wear. our country fought for our freedom, so take advantage of it.
the next person who makes a comment about being a prep, don't even say anything because their not worth it, and be thankful you don't have to diss the way other people dress in order to feel good.
instead of telling people what they should wear, they should really be getting help because they have a problem.
