Th thing is you know what you want to say but feel too scared to say it in front of a crowd. First, believe in every word you want to say and secondly, when it front of a crowd look into the eyes of one person in the front row and start talking to them. Nobody else matters at that point and you'll be done in no time.

I have given tons of speeches and acted in local productions for a while. I always looked at one person in front of me and delivered my speech or at the other actors and just did my thing. You also need to remember that you are the authority, the expert on the topic you are talking about and people need to hear what you want to say. Picture yourself as someone with authority--it helps.

The other thing I strongly recommend you do is get involved with student government as your confidence levels will go up as you are forced to speak up and share opinions with others and adults too. I hope this works for you. E-mail to let me know how you progress.

play with a rubber band or a paperclip where people cant see, it makes you less nervous. I've seen it in a movie before, and my teacher did it on the first day of school. I also fiddle things in my hands when Im nervous and it kinda helps. as for speaking.. um just dont tell yourself that you are nervous, or worry or think about it too much. know what your going up to say, have flashcards or something so you dont forget cuz of stagefright. its normal, i feel like that sometimes too. but once you start doing it, you get used to it, and its more relaxing. pretend you're reading to a friend or something..

Quite frankly, it's something that you're born with.

I haven't give a speech in a few months, and the speech that I gave was a perusasive speech to a group of classmates. We were allowed to throw things at the speechgiver if they were doing poorly, and a bunch of people were going to throw stuff at me, but then my speech mesmerized them, and so they didn't. I was one of three people to get an A.

I make eye contact with people when I give my speech. You can't just read a piece of paper-what you're talking about has to flow through your blood.

Try acting and performing in plays. I really think that it will help, though I can't put my finger on why.

hey, well a lot of people have a fear of public speaking. its just something that you will get used to with practice. the reason why the schools make you read aloud and do public speaking is so that when your an adult the hands shaking and the voice trembeling wont happen to you. practice makes perfect so just do your best. im sure your not the only one in your class with this fear. good luck =].
