How does "Plumping Lipgloss" work?
I bought some yesterday, and it said your lips should tingle, which they did, but what does the mean/how does it plump your lips?
also, if it does plump your lips, how long does it last?
leLovely answered Saturday December 30 2006, 6:16 pm: My one friend has that lipgloss, and she says it works by your blood vessels bursting in your lips? I'm not sure if she's right, but yea that's pretty much all I know about it. [= [ leLovely's advice column | Ask leLovely A Question ]
LOL_x0x answered Saturday December 30 2006, 12:04 pm: yeah your lips should tingle,
but sometimes they don't.
They have an effect so that your lips
look bigger and poutier if
that makes sense :]
it usually lasts until you wash it off,
like a few hours maybe?
depends on what kind you're using.
Flaggal answered Saturday December 30 2006, 10:48 am: it usally makes your lips bigger and fuller and it last about 8 hours -without smudging it- or it can last up to 24 hours. i'm not sure how it works but i know what it does ^
Razhie answered Saturday December 30 2006, 10:41 am: Lip plumping lip glosses work by irritating your skin. Think of it like a bee sting: it gets irritated so the flesh swells up around it. (Some of the first plumping products were actually made with bee venom, weird eh?)
Anyways, that’s why is tingles or 'stings'. Different products claim to last for different lengths of time, but if you have allergies be careful with those products, you are basically placing a very low grade poison on your skin. Also, some people have said you might build up a tolerance to the irritant over time and the gloss will stop working. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]
ASAPcamille answered Saturday December 30 2006, 9:47 am: when it plumps your lips, they make your lips a little bigger and fuller. depending on the product, it can last between 24-48 hours and sometimes more! it may take a few tries to get it to work properly. good luck♥ [ ASAPcamille's advice column | Ask ASAPcamille A Question ]
