my period normally lasts 2 or 3 days. now, all of a sudden it's lasted around 7 and is really heavy. also, i'm getting HORRIBLE cramps to the point where i dont even want to stand up. my periods are also really irregular but ive had my period since i was 11 and im 13 now. can anyone tell me if this is a problem that i need to see a doctor for or anything? and anyway to make me feel better?

You don't have to see a doctor. It's completely normal. It's an evil thing that we ladies were cursed with.
I think, for the cramps, wearing loose pants (like sweatpants or pajama pants) help. Hugging a pillow to your tummy for a few seconds work too. At least it comforts me. Stay still on your bed, or whatever position comfortable... just don't move until the pain goes away.
iloveaar answered Thursday December 28 2006, 5:12 am: don't worry im 18 and the same thing happend usually some girls start with theyr period that only lasted like 2 , 3 days and wasn't that heavy when i was 11 also and i didn't have a lot of cramps or anything i felt too good to be in my period ...then when i was around 14 it got like 7 days long and really heavy and thats when the cramps started and really iregular...then at 16 17 and actually it lasts around 5 4 days its normal and of course your body starts changing at that age a lot! & your hormons so its normal until you become regular again with time your body then will settle an average of days that your period will last for the following years and you'll become regular =) hope i helped
ductape_n_roses answered Thursday December 28 2006, 1:44 am: Well irregular period means irregular dates (when it comes and how long it lasts) and how heavy it is. Sometimes it would be normal then heavy then really really light and so don't worry.
Take Midol or Advils to help with the cramps. Put heating pads on them and just relax and wear loose clothing.
Also if you're bleeding incessantly..like a lot and oyu feel dizzy for too much blood going out with you, go see a doctor and see what you can do about it.
