for my birthday i got gift cards. there the same thing and they ask you to sign a reciet -just in case of anything- its like the same as a credit card.
Igotamonopoly answered Thursday December 28 2006, 2:07 pm: I have a debit card, in my name from US Bank.
It's not a real debit card, though because it isn't connected to any accounts. It's kind of like a Visa or MAstercard giftcard.
Speaking of the giftcards, you could get a Visa giftcard for like $1000, or wahtever. It's like the same thing as what I have, except mine is through a bank.

Right now, you can get your dad to get a supplementary card to his card with your name on it. Sign the card and voila, the card is your card but the bill goes to him. Just be careful spending. I hit the limit so many times when I was younger and when he would try to use it, it would say he couldn't buy whatever he wanted and I'd get in trouble. Technically you can have one at 18...in reality you can have one when you have a job where you can cover your expenses you incur from using it...card companies like you to have a job before giving you one so it shows you have some way of paying them back...daddy isn't always going to be able to take care of that when you should be responsible for it.
megxeliza answered Thursday December 28 2006, 1:40 am: the reason they ask to see his license is because he didn't sign the back of his credit card. that's because if they don't sign the back of the card, then they ask to see the license to make sure they're really that person and it's not a stolen card. people don't sign theirs sometimes because they don't want other people using it, and if they sign it, then the signature is on the back and the workers wouldnt have to ask to see the license. yes, you can have your own credit card. my friends have them and they're 13. so yes, you're old enough and that's why they ask to see his license. ♥ megan [ megxeliza's advice column | Ask megxeliza A Question ]
