It is the same with running on a tredmill and running outside other than the heat or coldness.

Running on a treadmill is fine because you can get good exercise, but whenever you can, it's best to run outside. There are different types of terrain and surfaces outside, as well as fresh air and wind resistance, so you burn more calories outside. Good luck...hope I helped!

it depends what kind of tred mill you're running on. if your running outside you get more of a workout because there are hills your not running on a plain flat surface, & you can open your legs to get more distance. some tredmills have settings that tilt it so its like your running on a hill, but it's really not the same thing. i run on the tredmill in the winter, because i dont like breathing in the cold air outside. i think the main difference between the tredmill & running outside is how it feels, i hate running on the tredmill because time goes by so slowely, & i feel like i`m running a 10 minute mile.

Theres no difference between calories you burn off or anything like that. Its all about preference. Some people dont like running on a treadmill because they find it boring, and they like to look at scenerey when they run. :] Others are just fine running on a machine at the gym! I agree with you since its winter, to go on a treadmill. Whatever you like.
