Trust me the best idea is to go to the doctor. It will be better for when your older. [ kiran's advice column | Ask kiran A Question ]

And consider this since you're afraid of a diagnosis of endometriosis: you have diagnosed that yourself.
Until you see a doctor, it WILL be permanent because until you see a doctor you won't get a bona fide diagnosis that it's something else or IF IT IS endometriosis, you won't get help for your condition.
Your reluctance isn't uncommon. But it will never go away UNLESS you see a doctor. Stay healthy and

You don't necessarily have endometriosis (which is migration of endometrial cells outside of the walls of the uterus). You may have a hormonal imbalance. You should definitely be checked out by a doctor. It's possible s/he can fix this easily. I know it's embarassing to tell your mom, but she gave birth to you. She knows you. She probably already thinks it's weird you're going through so many sanitary products! If she's like I am with my daughter, she only wants to help you and knowing you have a medical problem would not make her think any differently of you.
As for not wanting to see the GYN, NONE OF US DO. But it's really not that bad. The doctor, if it's a male, would have to have a female escort in the room during an exam on you. If it's a female, then she goes through the same things you do. And we all pretty much look alike. Putting a label on what's wrong with you does not change the nature of the disease. If you were pregnant and didn't see a doctor, would the baby not come out in 9 months? Things which are going to happen are going to happen and you can't change it by choosing not to name it. Sorry.
BooYouWhore answered Sunday December 24 2006, 3:05 am: well, you really need to go to a doctor and you really need to tell your parents. I know that its scary, but it will be better in the long run. Your parents will be there to support you and your doctors will be able to help you. If you keep on waiting and not getting treated, then things will be worse for you rather than better. Its very understandable to be scared, even if you aren't normally one who is scared easily, but you really need to talk to your parents. Even have your best friend with you for support as you tell people. A strong support system is the best thing for you right now. I really hope that you are okay and that everything goes alright for you.

Everyone goes to the doctor, even people you think are invincible.
No one here can diagnose you, sweetie. Just tell your mom.
