Question Posted Thursday December 21 2006, 10:21 am
I've got flu, which is really annoying cos we just broke up from school and now I'm ill. It's christmas in 4 days and before that I wanna do stuff. I wanna go out with my friends and have a good time, y'know? I've got a really bad headache, sore throat, cold, cough, tummy ache and I've got no energy.
Do you know anything I can do to get better as quickly as possible? I really don't want to be ill for christmas.

But Hot Chicken Soup is the best thing always when your sick, A nice hot bubble bath will help too! For your sore throat eat pretzels, and gurgle salt water it really helps! And take cough drops for your cough. Just rest for tommarow mostly and take it easy don't do anything major like go out somewhere. By saturday you should be okay unless you get more of it. Your lucky your not throwing up yet and hopefully you wont. I hope you feel better<3 [ Tara66's advice column | Ask Tara66 A Question ]
Volleyball2150 answered Thursday December 21 2006, 3:46 pm: alright,
so make sure you get plenty of rest, take naps and try to sleep about 10-12 hours of sleep. I know, you want to do things with your friends, but in order for you to do that, you need at least 1 day of resting, so you cant go outside... just lay down the entire day. Sleep, nap, lay down and watch movies. Drink LOTS of fluids. You should go to the bathroom at least 10 times a day. seriously, i know that sounds gross, but that's true. Drink fluids that are warm, not cold. Like tea, or hot milk. Go to your doctor if you still feel sick after 2 days. They'll give you medicine to heal you.
Headache- ask someone to take a soothing cream and massage your head, while you lay down and relax.
Sore throat- take a scarf and wrap it around your neck, leave it there and try not to talk. take medicine.
Cough- ok this may sound very gross, but it works. When you cough, try to get that slimy gross stuff out. So if you cough and you feel some slimy stuff in your throat, try to cough it up and spit it out in the sink.
Stomachache- don't eat things such as chocolate, sugary foods, or fast foods. Eat things like fruits, vegetables, vitamins, minerals.
** most importantly for stomachaches- drink TEA!! it'll make you have to go to the bathroom and will clean out your intestines. Eat toasted bread with butter a lot, that will also make you go to the bathroom and will clean out your intestines.
The reason why you've got no energy is because you probably don't have enough sleep or food in your stomach. like I said, try to get at least 10-12 hours of sleep, and try to eat a lot. Not a lot that you'll feel like you have to throw up, just until you are satisfied. Healthy foods will give you energy.
