Straightening Hair

Question Posted Friday December 15 2006, 11:05 pm

I have an important event I have to attend tomorrow night. My hair is very curly, but I straighten it often. I have VERY short layers, but my hair comes down to my chest. How can I get my hair SUPER straight? Like, what can I do to make everything straight and withstand a night of cold blowing winds?

Take a shower at night. Blow try it and then straighten it with hot heat with a good curling iron...remember, cheap curling irons don't work on any hair, really. Use a curling iron that's product price is beyond at least $25.00
When you sleep, put you hair in a light ponytail...don't worry about the dent. When you wake up, straighten your hair again, and it should work.

Well just like the others said take a shower or bath, when you get out towl dry your hair well, let some of it air dry, and while its still a little damp blow dry your hair, make sure you brush it out also, after you've done that you can spray non-friz spray (you can get cheap at walmart) it adds shine and also helps to keep hair healthy and non-frizzy. I blow dry my hair alot and i use that. Also make sure your strighter has heat settings, use the highest setting. Mine has turbo you can get it also at walmart for $15 it works well. I hope i helped.

To keep your hair really straight all night, straighten it in layers. Put most of your hair up in a clip and keep a little of it down and straighten that part really good.. then slowly bring more hair down and straighten it.. until its perfect.. this works really good. When your done, you could put any kind of lotion or hairspray in your hair to keep it looking good.
Hope this helps.

I have the same kind of hair. And whenever I want it super straight, I usually take a shower or bath, shampooing and conditioning my hair at least twice. Then let it air dry. Once it's only a bit damp, blowdry your hair, while brushing it out. Once done, straighten your hair. And to keep it there, I use really strong hair spray.

If you don't have a blow-dryer, just air dry your hair, leaving a little conditioner in your hair and straighten it out.

Hope I helped.

I think what you should do is get a shower, then let it air dry a little bit, then blow dry it. After that, use a hair straightener (if you don't have one you could get a cheap one at Target or Walmart, or if you have a little bit of extra money you could go to a specialty beatuy products shop and get an expensive but better one: I have a CHI hair straightener and it works REALLY well.) Have fun at your event, and hope this helped!
