If you haven't let me tell you a couple of ideas I have. Just like you I prefer a diet that I do not have to go buy their food. It gets expensive and old really fast. If you love fruits and veggies a good one is The McDougall Program it is a vegan diet and gives you a ton of options. You can find out more at drmcdougall.com there was even a 12 day plan for free on it a while ago.
My newest favorite place is the biggestloserclub.com It is from the T.V. show and packed with diet and excercise plans. There are even groups you can join that have challenges like the show.
Good luck and let me know if you need anymore help! [ askshannon's advice column | Ask askshannon A Question ]

But if you can handlle it like evrybody else is capable of go for it. Just make sure what you are doing is for you and nobody else.
Or Try weight watchers, curves, and even set up an appointment with a nutritionist when it come to dieting they know exactly what to do. Good Luck. I'll low carb diet with you [ Luvsingin201's advice column | Ask Luvsingin201 A Question ]

Here is an example of a good diet without going to the extremes and eating all grapefruit, and btw, don't go on an all juice diet, because that will just make you hungry, and probably make you gain pounds inthe long run.
Breakfast:
1 peice of toast or bowl of healthy cereal
1 glass of milk
1 fruit
1 glass of juice (optional) (juice; don't get a "beverage" because basically that means that it's juice with a bunch of sugar added.)
Lunch:
1 Sandwich (bread{if you get a whole wheat o other healthy bread it would be even better}meat{if you buy some turkey or another lean one from the deli, it should be healthier, or you can ask the deli people} cheese {dairy is good for you, but not always great for a diet} and vegetables {like tomatoes or lettuce})
1 vegetable {carrot sticks, cucumber slices, pickles if you like them,}
1 Fruit {an apple, an orange, anything like that)
1 drink (water or juice, water is great because it has no caloires, AND flushes out your system, which is really great, because that will help you lose some weight, you should buy a large reusable water container and plan to drink a full one a day. -or- drink a juice box, for lunch, water is great, but juice is god too, one thing to make sure of while taking a diet, is that you do not limit the sugar intake each day, because sugar is important as well, becuase if you don't have enough, your blood glucose level will go down, and you could faint or something. So be careful)
Dinner:
Try and find some recipies online that are healthy and unclude, a meat, a vegetable and a carbohydrate.
snacks:
Vegetables are great for a snack, as well as friuts, but remember the greener the vegetable, the healthier it is. So if you get a cucumber or celery thats healthier than a carrot.
Those are some simple guide lines that you will probably find in every diet, but if you really into getting off those pounds and you don't mind counting every calorie in every bar of yucky granola bars thats great but otherwise its probably best to keep a watchful eye on what you're eating, but don't obsess. Try to limit your snacks, and don't skip meals. I hope I gave you some ideas. And good luck with your diet. Lots of love,
