Yes trimming your hair on a monthly basis will provide the image that it is longer because it is even and healthy, it cuts off you split ends which prevents breakage creating an effect which makes it look like your hair is longer when it is actually just thicker. It's the same thing when you keep it in a ponytail, it prevents breakage making it look like you hair is longer when it is actually thicker. it gives your scalp time to breathe. and when you do wash your hair, massage your scalp for a few minutes while the shampoo is in.
