Melody answered Friday December 8 2006, 10:55 am: The first thing you need to know, is that this doesn't neccesarily have to be under the sex category.
Your hymen can rip doing a number of things that actually aren't sexual in any way at all. As in bike riding, horseback riding, gymnastics, wearing tampons, stretching, running, and many other things that cause strenuous stretching of the legs.
Basically though, it's when a thin layer of skin that's located on your vagina is ripped. You may experience a little bleeding and a little pain, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. And remember, you can still have your hymen even if you aren't a virgin. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]
Roxy07 answered Tuesday December 5 2006, 8:24 pm: Basically it means when you are a virgin and you have sex for the first time. You then loose your virginity and your 'cherry has popped' its called a hymen.
The hymen can be broken by a number of ways other then sex. It can be broken by riding a horse, being fingered, using a tampon and so on...
Some girls bleed from it (I didn't really) but some girls don't.
Solaris answered Tuesday December 5 2006, 12:15 am: Yes hymen gets broken. Many things can do it. Riding a horse and "pop" it. Most girls bleed from it, but some dont. [ Solaris's advice column | Ask Solaris A Question ]
MYLOVExx answered Tuesday December 5 2006, 12:09 am: It simply means that your hymen gets broken. Many girls get their "cherry" popped when they use tampons if not then sex or fingering. If the hymen is broken during sex, some girls will bleed -- but not all.
