orphans answered Sunday November 26 2006, 10:45 am: downloading limewire is legal, but if you download songs without paying, its illegal. but there are songs on limewire that you can pay for, so thats not illegal, but everyone downloads limewire for free --> which is illegal [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
thelaura answered Sunday November 26 2006, 8:57 am: The program Limewire is legal.
Big BUT time (!)..
If you don't pay for the songs etc then it's illegal.
Although, most people do it anyway and nothing will happen.
Unless something different like downloading a virus accidently, which is very common with programs like Limewire. So be careful! :) [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

Family_Guy answered Sunday November 26 2006, 4:15 am: LimeWire is legal, the concern is focused towards what you use it for. If you download music and you haven't paid for it in some way(CD, itunes, etc) then you have officially stolen that song which is.....illegal. Same thing goes for downloading movies, software, games, etc.
Basically, if you're using it to download anything that you would normally have to pay for, then yes, you are breaking the law. People have been taken to court for this so don't be an ass. The use of the program however, is legal in and of itself. [ Family_Guy's advice column | Ask Family_Guy A Question ]
