Question Posted Saturday November 25 2006, 6:37 pm
My mom and brother are really sick. They have been puking all night and barely can move. I've been around them a lot and getting them stuff, but I am worried I will get sick too since apparently it's contagious. My dad just had surgery so I am not going to leave the house and make him take care of them. I just was wondering if there is anything I can do to prevent myself from getting sick as well..besides staying away from them? Thank you =]

Carrying around a bottle of Purrell can't hurt either. Try not to directly touch your family either unless really necessary, but if you do be sure to scrub!
Take vitamins also, any kind will help.
Just keep your immune system up, drinking OJ
is also proven to really help boost your immune system!

You can use disinfectant spray on things they touch a lot such as the computer mouse and keyboard so you don't get their germs. Keep your distance. At the first sign of symptoms, take medication. Knock it out before you can get sick. Get plenty of sleep. Also, try drinking lots of water and orange juice. Water keeps you hydrated and OJ has lots of vitamin C, good for fighting illness. Good luck =) [ Shortcake22's advice column | Ask Shortcake22 A Question ]

Don't drink out of their drinks or eat any of the food they've either eaten or touched. I've heard that Airborne works great for not getting sick but I haven't tried it so I wouldn't know for sure. You could also spray your house with Lysol or any other disinfectant just to get some of the germs out of the air. Good luck! [ epicadvice's advice column | Ask epicadvice A Question ]
ImFakingHotPink answered Saturday November 25 2006, 8:01 pm: First off, it can be just food poisoning if they both got it at the same time. Try and track back where you guys ate before they got sick, did they both have the same meal? Then it's most likley that. Or it could be a bug, if you don't have any simptoms or feel like you do take a medicine called Airborn, they sell it everywhere. Put it in a small cup with water- let it dissolve and drink it. It's tastes good and works. It's not a sure thing that you will not get sick but close. Also try not to touch them too much nor eat from their plate.
