Question Posted Saturday November 25 2006, 5:41 pm

my school's winter formal is some time in january, but i want to get a really cute dress because last time i got mine at the last minute. where are some stores or websites i could look for a fancy-ish but not too fancy (it's not like prom) dress. i like short dresses - knee-length or a little shorter or longer. anything CUTE.. thanks!

also, how should i wear my hair? i have curly hair and i dont want to straighten it. should i get it done?

Hi

I think a really great place to look it le chateau thats where i got mine. If you find an outlet they have some really good deals. i got mine for 10$$$$$$$$ Mariposa also has some good dresses. you could also try sears or zellers espically if you are on a budget.

About the hair. if you are on a budget a great idea is to go onto a website where you can look at different hair styles. there are some site where if you have a digital camera then you can take a picture of your self, up load it onto your computer and then you can try different hair styles on your self. then print of the style you like and ask you friends to help you match the look. you could also get your hair done. when trying to find a styalist call teh salon and ask who has the longest wait. this would probably mean they are the best at the salon. if you do go have some pictures of what you like or some ideas that can help the styalist give you the perfect look.

I just looked all day for a winter formal dress! Thats so weird :] Im the exact same way. Its semi-formal wear. I shopped around at the mall and I went to Lord & Taylor, Forever 21, Express and I tried on Id say about...45285 dresses at Macy's. Ha. Then I went online and I found such cute dresses. Go to Nordstrom.com and click Juniors. Then look around. Im ordering three dresses to see which I like best! And theyre all like, 68 dollars from NORDSTROMS! Because theyre on the more casual side but they still look nice and you can make it more formal which is what Im doing with jewels, heels and good hair and makeup! So, yeah I would try Nordstrom. Or go to the websites Forever21.com. The store didnt have good dresses, but the website did. I hope that helped! Heres some dresses I put in my favorites..some Im ordering.

For hair, if you want to get it done, thats fine. But for a semi formal dress you could probably do it yourself. Or have a friend curl your hair. I like this style for a semi formal dance:

Hope that helpsss

DEB and Delias have awesome dresses.

As for hair, you could get braided corn rows at the top and then just leave the rest down curly. Or you could get a cute updo. I've been searching for pictures, but can't seem to find any =/
Good luck!
