The Chi is a really good straightner. Or Hellen of Troy. They sell ones in walmart by Conair that are good too. Just make sure that it will let you control the heat settings. Dying hair does damage hair, but I dye mine all the time. :X I really shouldn't. You can use Panteen-ProV conditioners that will help your hair. It says something about damaged hair, it works. And there are many products you can put in your hair before you straighten it. I recommend the bottle that's clear and it looks like liquid, but a little bit dense. I forgot what it's called but I'm sure it'll work.

Telll me which one you get! :)

hair dyeing does damage hair. it makes your hair ten times harder to brush also, and usually dyed hair is harder to deal with.
the best straightner out there is called chi or key or something like that, it's pornounced "key" and is about $100, so lets skip that.
the straightner i use is remington wet2straight, it's really good, and you can set it on a scale of heating from 1 to 30. it beeps when the straightner is finished heating up to the number of your choice. it's only about $30 too.
and to help keep your hair from being damaged by straighteing and blowdrying it, i suggest you use v05 mircale! mist, heat defense and conditioning spray. (it says all that on the bottle) not only does it keep your hair shiny, but it protects your hair from being fried.
hope i helped!!
=)

I think you do have some serious hair damage, so I recommend using a good shampoo and conditioner -- Thermasilk Color Revatilizing Shampoo & Conditioner, and John Frieda Frizz-Ease Reinforce Strengthening Triple Creme Masque (daily). And yes, dying your hair that often damages your hair. I would leave it one way, or use only temporary color.

I'm a total beauty junkie myself, and it's great, but you do have to watch for what's really healthy for your hair, and not to get too out of hand with it. The only thing it really does, is burn a whole in your pocket, but other than that, it's pretty much okay for your hair.

As for the straightening, yes, it damages your hair extremely! Try not to do this so often, use a gel or smooth-in cream.

Conair has very good (and cheap!) ceramic straighteners, you can buy them at Wal-Mart or even your local drugstore.

Well, I don't usually straighten my hair, but what I have is a conair or something. If you have thick hair, gett a bigger one. Theres one for like i think 105 dollars or something, that a couple of my friends have. That works really well, if you have like, a beauty store, or something.. go there, & ask them. They'll know. Hair straighteners can run from like 10 dollars to like 100 & something dollars. Mine was like 50, it works pretty well, & it stays straight for the whole day. My friends, don't straighten it like everyday, like, my one friend, like her hair doesn't get dirty quick or anything, so sometimes she takes a shower every other day. So it doesnt ruin her hair as much. & like I mean you don't have to wear your hair straight everyday, yano? Like, I usually put my hair up in a pony tail one day, have in a headband another day, & then straighten it another day. & yeah, your hair could be getting damaged from all that stuff you use.

Oh, & hair dyeing yeah, it can damage the hair. I was gonna get my hair like highlighted, & the lady at the salon, told me I shouldn't because once you start, you like ALWAYS have to do it. & everything. & espically if you want it done right, & all that.. that will also cost some money, if you'd like have to pay for it yourself.

Anyways, I hope I helped.
kbye (:
