cheap xmas
I had all of my money stolen from me and now I'm broke for X-mas. I'm going to manage to save up some money but not enough to buy my friends the wonderful presents I wanted to get them! I need some cheap/creative ideas for presents but I have no idea what anything is and I'm so stressed out the whole process is just giving me a headache! So could anyone please help with some cheap and/or creative ideas (that dont make it LOOK like I'm cheaping out, I mean they're gonna understand that I cant afford much but I still dont want to seem lame)?

The whole meaning of this christmas is giving with your heart, not the pricetag. Unfortunitly people today don't see that. Well you could recycle some cans and do some chores for more money. Also you could not spend money when you go eat at luch at school. explain the situation to your friends come the day of giving
If they're your true friends they wouldn't care of the price and accept it comming from one friend to another. for cheap gift ideas you could go to the 99cent store or some cheap retail. Haha, i remember my mom got me this nice dragon incense holder form the 99cents store and i thought it was pricey i loved it and i still use it.
Also people are used to pretty things so rap the cheap stuff in bows like it's from the mall. Explain the situation,ike i said and if they're dicks, just say "and here i thought you were my friend, you're just as greedy as anyother." that'll probably teach em, and then you could give the gifts to someone else would could need a brightened holiday. Maybe the cute shy girl in class. ^^

- Bake stuff. (If you need recipes drop one in my inbox).
- Go to the dollar store. They have makeup bags, makeup, lotion, candy...tons of stuff.
- Go to Walmart. You can get lots of candy for a dollar. Also try their scented stuff, it's pretty cheap. One other thing they have is candy-flavored lip balms for a dollar each.
- This takes a while, but one time I made necklaces out of paper. Tear pages out of magazines, cut them into long triangles, and then roll them up (starting with the wide end) tightly, secure it with a dab of glue. Once you have enough, use a needle and thread to string it. This can make a really cool long necklace, double-strand choker, or bracelet. (For shorter ones, buy some clasps at a craft store.) I know it sounds hokey, but they actually look really cool!
- Make a collage out of pictures.
- Go to the dollar section at target- right now they have these really nice lotions, body butters, scrubs, etc. in holiday scents- sugar cookie, apple cider, cranberry, and holiday mint.

I have a similar problem with lacking money this year so I'm making some presents too. I've been looking for some ideas and here's some I've found/come up with:
- Baking goodies. Brownies, cakes, biscuits, etc, which you can then make boxes or packages for and decorate the box/package so each person has a special treat of their own.
- A collage of their favourite things/family snapshots/etc. You can usually get large plain photo frames quite cheap. Either find some card to fit or don't use a backdrop and stick in loads of photographs or other pictures to make a collage of things that will make them smile when they look at it.
- If you're good with a PC, you could do the collage idea as a slideshow on Microsoft Powerpoint and put it on a CD. They can view their favourite moments, amusing moments and embarrassing moments, at the click of a button.
- If you have access to a video camera, do them a short video. You could do one about Christmas or about family, or about any other number of things, as long as it's funny and interesting. You could do a mock-up of something funny that happened to them once. Anything you can act out that will make them laugh.
- You could make a calender for them. On Microsoft Publisher, there is a Calender Wizard, which you can use to make a personalised calender for the people you care about. Simply put in pictures of things and people they hold near and dear.
- Make a Christmas decoration/ornament for them. This could be really cheap if you know where to get the materials. A lot of hobby/craft shops sell the stuff you would need cheaply. You could get clear plastic baulbauls you could decorate, you could sew together a star, make a Christmas tree from some material, any number of things if you can imagine what you would like to make. Perhaps even make a small photo frame out of fabric and sew the picture into it so it can hang from the tree.

Sorry that your money was stolen. That sucks. I am with you as I dont have much to spend either or to give this Christmas. You might want ot go to Walmart, Buest buy and even a dollar store where you can find cheap stuff. Thats what I do. Well good luck and I hope you get something that they might like, etc.

omgsh, im so sorry about your money being stolen!! but anyways, you can go to walmart or target. they have amazing things! especially around the holidays there will be a lot of sales. also this may sound stupid but the dollar store has really good things, like lotions, body sprays, hair accessories, stuff like that. hope i helped and good luck! ♥ melissa

That stinks that your money was stolen, especially around christmas. Personally i dont have much money saved up, but if your friends are girls, you could try finding cheap sprays and lotions at walmart. They smell just like ones from bath and body works, but are definately cheaper. Picture frames with a picture of you and your friends are also a cute idea. Try big lots or target, they always have cute ones

you can make fudge and put it in little x mas tins or brownies or cookies. if you want some ideas go to your local gas station or grocery store or news satnd and get this monthe issur of GL or girls life magazine it has lots of low budget ideas and (you'll love the magazine 2!) got to:girlslife.com if you want to learn more stuff about it.
