i work in a candy store & i cannot stop eating the candy! i am trying to loose a little weight & in the morning/during school i tell myself i won't eat any but i wind up getting carried away & eating a ton of candy at work! it's hard because i see the other girls i work with eating it too & even when they are not there i am just as tempted! i even try to have a healthy snack befor i go so i am not as hungry, but i wind up eating just as much once i am there! what can i do to stop this? are there any tricks to give me more will power?
1) take a healthy snack from home that you enjoy, maybe somethign that tastes sweet but is really healthy. I like the 100 calorie packs, or the special k breakfast bars
2) keep all the money that you would have spent on candy in a jar at your house. look at how much you have saved before going to work, to remind your self of just hwo much you do spend on candy. Then, once you saved up enough, go out and buy yourself something that you have really wanted, and remember that you could have just eaten all that money if you would have bought candy
3) Just keep reminding yourself what the candy does to you. It could give you pimples, or make you gain weight. Without the candy your face might clear up (if you have acne) or you might even drop a pound or 2
4) ask the other employees to not eat the candy around you. If they arent eating it, you will be less tempted to eat it
dramaditz answered Wednesday November 22 2006, 10:19 am: first off, if you ever want to by the candy, think of all the more important things the money can be used for. guilt sometimes does the trick.
also, bring something, like a rubber band, to keep your hands busy, this could help.
if your store isnt busy,and you sometimes get bored, and thats the problem, then bring a book or some homework.

partyanimal answered Wednesday November 22 2006, 7:14 am: the first thing you should start doing is to stop bringing money to work with you, so you cant buy any candy at all. you also need to learn self-control, before you eat the candy bar, think about the consequences.
you should ask yourself, "after i eat this candy bar, i know i'm only going to gain weight and taste the candy for a few minutes, so is it really worth it?"
also, candy gives you cavities and usually gets gunk stuck in your teeth, and you don't want to ring up a customer with smelly breath and nasty teeth. the best way to start is to not bring money to work with you, it's the easiest too, to also help you not eat it, you should ask your coworkers to tell you before they eat a candy bar so you or they could leave the room so you don't get tempted. to help you feel better, when a coworkers eating candy, you should say to yourself (not to be mean, but it'll make you stop) "good thing i'm not eating a candy bar, i don't want to become fat, but if she keeps eating them, she'll be a balloon!"
