tampon

Question Posted Friday November 17 2006, 9:42 pm

i got a tampon in for the first time about an hour ago. it was ok at first and i didnt feel it, but now its beginning to hurt, mainly if im siting down, it burns. is this normal since its my first time using one? ive tried pushing it in/pulling it out a little to see if its not in properly, and that helps for a few seconds but then its just back to the burning. whats goin on?

well for one you may be using the wrong type of tampon...my first tampon was tampax pear and it bothered me really bad...i had the same types of syptoms as you then i switched to kotex and i was fine so try switching brands...that may help

you may have inserted it wrong, or not far enough up in there.

if it continues to burn then remove it.

but if you have other pains anywhere, i would recommend you to see a doctor, for Toxic Shock Syndrome.

its probably because you didnt put it far enough in.
next time, try to put it almost as far as you can, and dont pull it out, because then it will hurt when you walk/sit/etc

it if hurts, deffinantly take it out

This could possibly be for a number of reasons.

* Some people just can't wear tampons - it's too uncomfortable for them.

* You could have inserted it wrong - refer to the instructions in the box.

* You might not have pushed it in far enough - You have to insert it the full length of your finger.

* You might be too dry - Try putting a bit of lubricant or vasoline on the end of the tampon and insert it again. This will make it a bit more comfortable.

I'd say it'd probably be the last one because you say it's burning so you could just be dry.

Hope this helps you.

Good luck!

It might not be inserted correctly. I'd take it out and try another one. Be sure to angle it toward your back as you insert it. Once it's in you should give the string a little tug to get it into the correct position. I'm wondering what type you're using. I personally can't use anything other than the plastic applicator tampons. Also, you might not have the right absorbancy in. Sometimes if my period is light and I try to use a regular flow tampon it will start to get pretty uncomfortable. Tampons are such a pain. I guess in your case, that can be taken literally.
