My boyfriend and I have been sexually active, and I'm just wondering when it is safest to have sex without the possibility of pregnancy... like right before or right after having a period? thanks.

No sex is safe sex. Especially without any kind of birth control method. There is always the possibibility of pregnancy.
orphans answered Monday November 6 2006, 11:59 pm: basically, your safest right before and right after, because when you actually get your period, that means the egg was not fetilized, so it needs to get out (period=your not pregnant) anyways the time when your most likely to get pregnant is half way between, but there is ALWAYS a chance, so use protection --> the cost of raising a baby is much more expensive than the cost of a single condom [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
