website stufff...

Question Posted Wednesday November 1 2006, 9:11 pm

alright so lately.. i've been having like serious issues with my stomach and stuff. Does anybody know a website where like you could type in symptoms, and then they give you a possible list of what you have? Because I can't figure it out. And I just went to the doctor about 2 months ago for this.. but it showed up as nothing, but it just seems to be getting worse and worse.. but i'm too scared to ask my mom to take me back again. Especially since my family doesn't have a lot of money since my dad died.. so like i think that if i knew what it could possibly be, then i could like know that it's not horrible. So can somebody PLEASE help me find a website that can let you do that? Or like if somebody knows a bunch of medical stuff, let me know please!! thankssomuch!<3

I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. You've had a lot to deal with and if you try to be strong for everyone else, something is going to give.
If the doctor has given you the all clear on your symptoms, has the possibility of a psychosomatic illness been mentioned? This does NOT mean you are imagining it or going mad etc. These illnesses are very real, brought on by an overload of stress, grief, life changing events etc, and generally hit a persons most vulnerable area. They are as real as any 'normal' illness and can make you feel terrible. They just don't tend to show up on tests.
Now, I'm not saying you do have this, it's just one of the possibilities. You really do need to go back to your doctor, I understand about the money problem, but your mum needs to know, and it's up to her to make the decisions about finance, surely she wouldn't want you to suffer? Whether it is this or something else the doctor hasn't found, he will be the best person to see. There are a lot of illnesses out there that can share symptoms, it would be easy to misdiagnose on a website and worry yourself further.
I have included a couple of websites on this particular illness to give you an idea about what it is if you don't know, but I will repeat, it has to be your doctor that diagnoses what the problem is.
I hope this helps and that you feel better soon.
