Too confused

Question Posted Wednesday October 25 2006, 7:05 pm

im at a really confusing stage of life right now. i gave up my best friend for my boyfriend. now i cant see my boyfriend for a month because he is grounded. what do i do? i cant have either of the people i love most in the world. i feel like heck, and i think i made the worst decision in the world, even though i truly love my boyfriend more than my friend.

If you've ever heard the expression
"Chicks before dicks"
okay that is kind of HARSH.
But boyfriends arent usually forever,
especially in highschool, a lot of people are just blinded by what they call "love" so they dont see that they arent goign to marry this person despite how much they love them, or how much they care. They will end up going to two different colleges most likely. Meeting new people, and having new challenges to face.
You know?
Try getting your best friend back, apologize, and tell her that you were wrong, and you shoudlnt have had to choose between both of you, theres got to be some happy medium, where you both can get along and have enough time for you and your bestfriend and your boyfriend. You know?

I hope things go well.

Okay, if you ruined a firendship with a guy, then you're not the best friend in the world. Do you really love someone that you met and will probably not end up marrying and go out for eh couple of months MORE THAN a friend that's been there for you and will always be there for you because you she is your best friend?

I suggest that while you have this time away from him, go talk to your friend. Try to make it up to her somehow and remember friendship is much better than boyfriends.

Dating is all about balance. You shouldn't have to give one up for the other. Make time for friends, because friends is forever, teenage relationships aren't. Even if you may feel like you want to spend all your time with your boyfriend, you should dedicate at least one day a week to hanging out with the girls. That way, when something like this happens you have your friends still. If your boyfriend has a problem with that, then he's not worth keeping around.

Apologize to your friend, let her know that you were a jerk for abandoning her for your boyfriend, and be more careful in the future!
