I'm 13/f, almost 14. I'm 5'10ish and 170 lbs.
My goal is to lose 20 pounds by December 31st 2006. My eating habits consist of 2 bowls of cereal for breakfast, usually a turkey sandwhich with 1 pint of chocolate milk & a fruit, and for dinner - i have about 2, 3 meals for dinner. I know I'm eating a lot, but I have four questions..
1) Is there any way for me to get my mind off of food so I won't crave it so much?
2) Excersize. How long should I run on the tredmill for/how many mph? I also play a lot of sports though. And also, if I'm not accesible to a tredmill one day what other exercise should I do?
3) What would you say is the rate I should be losing weight? (e.g. 2 pounds a week? 3 pounds a week? -- remember, I want to lose 20 lbs by December 31st 1992.
4) How many sit-ups and push-ups should I do every night? I would love to have a somewhat visible 2 pack by December 31st 1992

ok ok ok!You need to change your eating habbits first of all.People that start to diet don't usually understand how hard it is and how much work it will take to burn off fat, so trust me if you want to be skinny you are really going to have to work for it :)!

1)Eat less, like for breakfast have some fruit mabey a apple and some milk, milk is good for you its not like a dieting pill but it does help you losee weight.All the food you eat needs to fat free or you will never lose eny thing, i have already been through this trust me i know what i am talking about.Don't eat eny thing untill lunh just keep you mind on somthing elts, start a new project that has to do with one of you hobis to keep you mind off it.For lunch FAT FREE, fruit, vegtible, salid with dressing on the side, FAT FREE cerial (1 bowl), or mebey a yogurt.

2) as for working out its not as important as eating FAT FREE stuff but it does help ALOT!You should run on the tredmeal for at the least a HOUR A DAY, if you ever end that hour and feel like you can keep going then DO!If you run for 20 to 30 minits a day you wont lose alot trust me it must like a hour, sence you not used to that (or mabey you are?)You could always start out slow like mabey 30 minits the first day 45 minits the naxt day and it you feel you can do a hour after that then go for it :).

3)If you eat only FAT FREE food and run on the tredmeal for a hour a day yuo should probley be able to lose a good 5 to 6 pounds at the end of the mounth.

Remember dieting is not easy, but you can dojust stay comfident and remember what i have told you about FAT FREE stuff snd 1 HOUR A DAY RUNING.If you have eny more questions, or just wanna talk you can email me at Kiten94@aol.com or aim me at Kiten94

Eat A LOT of apples, drink green tea, don't drink chocolate milk, try not to eat a lot of meat, drink skim milk and eat a low calorie cereal(Special K), exercise for about 45 minutes a day, do 50 sit ups (upward situps, right side sit ups, and left side situps) every night, sucking on ice or drinking COLD water kills food cravings, try eating only three meals a day, and no snacking. oh, and drink 8 glasses of water a day. it helps a lot

1. there isn't really a way to stop craving food but there's a way to stop eating as much. Eating has to do a lot with what you see, not really how hungry you are. Use smaller plates (it might seem like you put more on your plate but you really don't) try eating 6-7 small meals a day instead of 3 huge ones, it makes you less hungry and keeps you full of energy all day long. Drink a TON of water, 8 glasses a day. It will help you lose a lot of water weight. You could also drink green tea.

2. run at your own pace for 10 min on the tredmill or take a jog outside. You could get a pilates tape or a work out tape and you could do that once a day. They really do work! Maybe try yoga?

3. 2-4 pounds a week is healthy. Try not to weigh yourself because remember, muscle weighs more than fat.

4. DON'T do sit ups, do crunches. Sit ups are bad for your back. Work your way up to 200 or 300 crunches a night and 20 push ups. Try doing different types of push ups, diamond (hands under you close together in the shape of a diamond), toe touch push ups (feet far apart), clap push ups (when you push yourself up, clap your hands..this is really hard to do)

You could also do squats to tone your legs and wall sits (back on the wall, legs bent like your sitting in a chair)

DON'T FORGET TO STRETCH! stretch AFTER you work out, it increases flexibility and keeps you from pulling muscles. Do it AFTER so your muscles are warmed up, the stretch further.

Tazo, the kind I drink, green tea is the best tasting tea out there! but any green tea that tastes good to you is fine.

i think the first thing you should do is to stop eating so much. you can work out all day but it wont help if you dont cut back on all that food. one bowl of cereal in the morning and one meal for dinner. its ok to feel hungry sometimes. -_^

another thing you might want to think about is WHAT your eating. take the cereal for instance, is it rasin bran or is it somthing loaded with sugar like lucky charms?

as for exercise the best bet for burning callories is jogging. i know, i hate seeing those people running around my neighborhood too, but there realy is no better way to lose weight.
