I have a problem of staying on top of things at school. I study, but I freak out on tests. I make a schedule but I rarely ever follow it, and when I come in for extra help it's never worthwhile because I just end up doing worse.
My point is, I need GREAT, EXPERIENCED, and PROVEN advice on how to ace tests and assignments (OK maybe not "ace" it, but rather do dramatically better). Also, give me some great techniques, like for example I heard chewing gum helps you stay awake and attentive on tests, and helps you do better with thinking of answers more effectively.
Also, advice on my "procrastination" problem would be nice as well.

the key is organization.
keep neat notes and a neat locker.
pay attention in class.
sucking on mints & hard candy helps me.
dont cram for tests the night before.
evenly space out longterm studying and projects.
get a good nights sleep.
eat breakfast.
i no all of this sounds corny, but it works for me.just try it.

You can study forever, but if you dont truly UNDERSTAND what your studying, it wont help. Everyone is different, and some things might help you stay focussed. But try studying a LITTLE bit everynight leading up to a test. Have someone quiz you or do flashcards. if you can fid a way to make it fun it makes things a lot easier. If you listen to classical music its supposed to make you more aware of your sub conscience. I think its bull, but scientists have proven it. Also ask lots of questions in class and always go with your first instinct. If you think A first go with it. The more someone thinks about something the more you second guess yourself. Good Luck!
Also, I procrastinate more that anyone else, TRUST ME. Basically theres nothing anyone can do to help except you. Try going home and getting everything done first, i know.. hard. u procrastinate. Or try doing some fun things and THEN working. Its hard to help, since I have the same problem. [ x3candiigrl's advice column | Ask x3candiigrl A Question ]
XkittyOkatX answered Friday October 13 2006, 10:15 pm: I would reccomend studying a little bit each night when you find out you're having a test. I'll admit it, I'm quite the procrastinator, but that can also come in handy. Try teaching your material to an OLDER friend or a parent, becuase teaching is the best way to show yourself you really understand something.
Also, try to write out some work sheets for yourself.
I'd try to also take outlines/notes/webs on what you're learning. First try using your recourses, then without, and then try to teach someone else to do an outline/ect. with the info YOU teach them. =] [ XkittyOkatX's advice column | Ask XkittyOkatX A Question ]
