Make sure that you are doing this for the right reason. The next thing is to be sure to practice safe sex...that mean making him use a condom...and make sure that you take this slow and if you want him to stop...make sure that he does...a lot of responsibility comes with having sex... Ive always found this particularly important.
Lube is especially great for women the first time you have intercourse, or if you tend to get sore. But always use a WATER-BASED lube (such as KY Jelly, Astroglide, Aqua Lube, Wet, Foreplay, or Probe). Oil breaks latex. Dont use Vaseline, hand creams or lotions as a lubricant. [ Krupple's advice column | Ask Krupple A Question ]

Use protection, don't be alarmed if you bleed, and tell him that you might not be able to keep up with him sexually right away and you might make him have to stop. After the first time, it just keeps getting better and better. Good luck. [ Anq3L_xO's advice column | Ask Anq3L_xO A Question ]
NikkiHendrix answered Tuesday October 10 2006, 7:31 pm: 1. Most IMPORTANTLY make sure that you are most definatly in love with each other and you are not just having sex to be cool or to ease sexual frustration.
2. Use protection. Be as careful about it as possible. If you're able to, get a pill. Whether it's birth control or the morning after pill just to be safe. And OF COURSE he DEFINATLY should wear a condom.
3. Make sure that the place you chose to have it is secure and safe and no one will intrude. You want to keep this private. No one else deserves to know anything about this than the both of you.
and lastly...
4. TAKE IT SLOW! The first time is msot likely not going to be your best time. It's going to hurt and there's going to be a lot of "getting used to." He needs to know your bounderies and you need to know his. He needs to make sure he doesn't hurt you or make you feel uncomfortable. If it's your first time then you will bleed because he is taking your virginity and "popping your cherry" so make sure you don't get fluids on places you don't want them to be.
