Cheerleading

Question Posted Saturday October 7 2006, 6:23 pm

im in eighth grade and i and my best friend decided to cheerlead. Cheerleading is starting in 2 days and i am so worried now. I have absolutely no idea how to do a cartwheel. I found some directions on google..but i'm still not being able to do it. I can't do the splits...not anything. I dont have to try out for cheerleading, but they have a, b and c teams. (a team is best, c the worst) It would be so humiliating to have to cheer for the c team.
I am looking for advice on how to improve my flexiblility, do a cartwheel and do the splits. Thanks for anyone who tries to help...i rate!

Lifting weights and exercising helps your arms, so you are able to lift your whole body in the air. You want to be in a place where there is alot of room. The first thing is to have confidence. If you believe and make you body think you can do this then you will. Just start running and put both hands on the ground, keep you legs straight, and make sure you legs are the first to land on the ground. Don't move your hands at all. When you hands first hit the ground you want to lift your body straight like a handstand but moving from the one side to the other.

Dear cheerleading trouble, I know that u only tried out for cheerleading because your friend did but let me tell you it takes years to train you body well enough to be an expert gymnist/ cheerleader but let me give you some advise on how to train your body a little bit every day........... First you start out streaching of coarse but then you practice standing on your hands and flipping. I gaurntee that you will be perfect cheerleading material in 2 two 3 weeks
