Colds, Field Hockey, and School

Question Posted Sunday September 17 2006, 8:48 am

I have a cold right now. It isn`t too bad, but my nose runs alot and I cough like crazy.
Tomorow school starts again, (because I was hoping I would be better by then time the weekend was over)
Anyways, I`m not really sure if I should miss school, because it isn`t anything too serious, and I would fall behind in school.
AND >>> I have field hockey every day after school for two hours, and so I don`t know what to do about that.

Yes, you should miss school. Runny nose, cough - whatever you have you can give to other people. That stuffs spreads like crazy in close quarters. As for homework, contact someone their (a teacher, a guidance counsler), they can give your assignments to a friend so you can keep uptodate.

When you wake up tomorrow, see how you feel then. Are you up for going to school? If you are, go. Then, if you're still sick, and the coughing and nose-running will interfere with your practice, talk to your coach and skip it. She'd probably much rather have you rest up and get better, than practice anyway and get worse.

Well... one time that happend to me. I had a cold and it wasn't too bad, I had school the next day and an important volleyball practice too. So what I did was wake up and if I felt good, i'd go to school... but if I still felt really sick, i'd skip it. Now if you go to school... at the end of the day do the same thing. How do you feel at the end of the school day? If you feel sick like you can't practice, then just ride the bus home. But if you feel like you can handle the practice. you can go there.

I hope I helped!
