Question Posted Tuesday September 5 2006, 7:14 pm

My parents are coming over for dinner and I'm not sure what kind of music to play in the background. What's some good dinner music that sounds okay when played softly and that won't upset the relatives?"

Well, if you like jazzy sort of stuff, try Harry Connick Jr. He's got a great voice and it makes for great ambient music. Norah Jones is also a good choice.

Anything that isn't loud or metal-headish. Classical is always a great choice. Also, maybe John Mayer or Jack Johnson, Coldplay, et cetera.

Jack Johnson, maybe some Ben Folds, I don't know. Classical always works perfectly for dinners unless you think they'd think you were being pretentious.

Hmm. Some soft Jazz. Ella Fitzgerald would be good. Her voice is mellow, such as the music. Hope I Helped :).
