I used to get these very often. Honestly, the best thing to do is drink cranberry juice. Not the kind you get with sugar and preservatives, but natural cranberry juice, with no sugar. It is bitter and gross, but works like a charm. If you let it go too long, it can spread to your kidneys and become serious, then you should see a doctor who will probably put you on antibiotics for however long it will take. (depending on how serious the infection is). It usually does NOT go away on its own. It will only worsen. ]
With treatment it should clear up in a few days. Two weeks is far too long to make gone without seeing a doctor, even if you aren't sure what you have. It could spread into a kidney or bladder infection so you need to get antibiotics. ]
Don't mess around with a UTI. Unchecked, it can spread to the prostate or uterus (depending on your gender, of course) and cause sterility. See a doctor, get some antibiotics, and take them as directed. They will clear it up after the first three days or so, but take them all, because otherwise it can come back resistant to that particular strain of antibiotics. ]
