First, there is a product that is called Nature's Cure. It is a two part acne treatment. It comes with morning and evening pills to take and a tube of vanishing cream. This costs about $8. There are also the face wash, toner, and lotion you can purchase separately, which is around $15. Another product which works is called Acne Free (it's similar to Proactiv, except not as expensive). It costs under $20. You can either purchase the regular acne-free, or you can get the one for severe acne. The one for severe acne, has the same steps, but has stronger medication which clears it up a little faster, and costs closer to $30. Acne-free also makes scar remover which comes with a moisturizer with spf 15 (which is sold separately and is under $20). All of these products are sold at Wallmart in the beauty section (close to the make-up, but not in the same isle, and should be next to each other). I have used all of these products, including Proactiv. Proactiv works well, but was too expensive for me at the time, and I have found that Acne-free works just as well and is less expensive, but the Acne-free for severe acne has stronger medication in it and I thought that was what I needed. I currently use the Acne-free for severe acne and Nature's cure (only the acne tablets). I hope this helped and good luck! <3 Dana [ littleblufirefly's advice column | Ask littleblufirefly A Question ]
xojennifer answered Friday August 25 2006, 2:41 pm: i've had horrible luck with acne for the past 2 years. dermatologists help and give you perscriptions that work, but as you said, you don't want to pay alot of money. recently, my sister has told me about "cetaphil". it's a type of soap cleanser that dermatologists recommend. priced at $6.99 in pharmacies, it doesn't dry your skin, it takes off makeup and dirt on your face, clears your pores, and is oil free. i've been using cetaphil for about 3 weeks and my face has been getting alot better. there are only 2 zits on my face and i used to have a million! if this doesn't work for you, then neutrogena products, clean&clear products, and clearasil products work, but they have dried out my skin. i would recommend cetaphil as my #1 choice.
ductape_n_roses answered Friday August 25 2006, 11:02 am: DO NOT USE LEMON JUICE YO! It has acid and when you go out into the sun, you'll have this certain spot on your face (where you put the lemon juice) that burns faster so you'll have a huge brown spot. (unless you put on a pound of sunscreen)
You should lay off greasyfoods such as fries, mayo, butter, pizza, burgers, etc. And if you have smaller fine red bumps, lay off red food likeketchup, tomatoes, hot sauce, etc.
Wash your face with just face cleanser (Not Olay soap bar or soap made esp. for acne (those soaps or differing gels and stuff like that the dermotologists give you to clear away the acne will hurt your skin in the long run) I use Cetaphil. It's a really gentle cleanser that softens your skin)
Wash you face twice a day with a cotton pad (just don't your hands) or face cloth. And at night after you've washed your face, you should make some green tea, cool it down to room temperature, dip cotton pads or face towel (like soak it in there) and put it on your face for 5-10min every night.
Make sure your hair is pulled up so hair doesnt touch your face and don't touch, pop, whatever your acne with your hands. If you're going to put lotion, sunscreen or something, make sure it's oil free and won't clog pores (read the bottle label) and no make up such as concealers or foundation. it will make your acne problem worse [ ductape_n_roses's advice column | Ask ductape_n_roses A Question ]
DancinCutie08 answered Friday August 25 2006, 10:12 am: I have heard lemon juice works well. Also putting a hot wet rag on your face and leaving it there for 10 mins or so helps clear out your face. I bought a face spa from walmart and it is very good with acne and it was only like $10.
Also i got proactive refining mask. I think it is somewhat on the expensive side but it is really worth it. i Believe it is $20 a tube but i wear it every other night and i have really seen good results.
People on here have mentioned toothpaste before and i tried it and it was a huge mistake. I woke up and my face was a mess. It turned all of my acne into red scabs and was really a pain in the butt [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
