braces!
13/f this may sound stupid, but i really don't like braces, they gross me out and soon I have to get braces. I know theres pretty much no way i can get out of them, and i can't use invisiline or anything. the only thing that will work for me are real metal braces. Is there a color or something that will make it look less gross? And is there a way that I could make the whlole braces process go quicker. Any tips or just anything about braces would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone hates braces and wish they came come off easily. Wish that the day you get them, and the next day, your teeth are straight and you get them off...life doesn't work like that.
I have braces (about a month ago I got them)
Your right, I didn't want them. Of course people notice, but some of my friends don't notice. This is what I do to keep it a low profile. You'll have to live with them, and you'll be so happy when you get them off. Straight teeth!
1. Light colors when you pick colors each time. You don't want to do multicolor's because people will totally see them.
2. When you smile, don't smile wide; do a half smile.
3. Bring a brissle (You should get them if the orthadonist gives you a baggy) they go between your teeth and always bring it to school. Go to the bathroom, and clean your teeth in the stalls or do it when no one is looking; I do that all the time. No one cares

Try not to use like white, or gray.. they tend to change colors with your food and they start to look dirtyy. Try using maybe a darker color like hot pink or navy blue..etc. There's not really a way to speed up the process, but I know if goes by faster if you make sure you go to every appointment when they're scheduled and to follow all instructions, cuz if you don't it actually adds a few more months on. okay so heres what i would do get light colors liek pinks blues purples dont get green or black they make you teeth look bad (i think) some ppl no but justto b ont he safe side. also i would bring a tooth brush to school and after lunck brush them it might be embarrasing but believe me they keep hem clean. another thing you could do is always keep on your rubberbands idk if your going to need them but there these little ruber bands that go on your braces to make them go a sertain way. always keep those in! i promise you it'll pay of in the long run hoped i helped. :]

i used too have braces too. Gosh they do suck. ur orthodontal guy must've told you not too chew gum. Reason: It'll wear out the wire/braces and make 'the whole braces process' go slower. A great color would be alternating pink and dark blue. I love black braces too. Dont get the really light blue kind or the hot green. oh, and convince your mom to let u not eat brocolis. thoses tiny leaves will get stuck inside. and I'm sure you dont want to face an hour of flossing session. think positive, you'll have great teeth after!

ok i saw that other people said to get clear ones or whatever? DONT. they get stained from food and stuff and look DISGUSTING its sick do NOT get them i know so many people who have them and they hate them its really gross, they get all yellow and stuff

you can get clear ones. They are the same thing as the metal ones but they are clear and only cost about $100 more. I know what you are thinking but you usually have to wear them for 2 years so the $100 is a good deal. The only part you can see is the wire and that is barely vissible except upclose. At first i really hated braces but picking colors and all that was sort of fun.
My advice is make sure you brush your teeth often, twice as much as you do now to keep your teeth looking nice!

i had to go through that too. u can get the white braces, which dont show up as much, but u can still see them. If you get pretty colors, people (at least at my school, since over half the population gets braces at one time or another) might even compliment them. like my friends always seemed to like it when i got rainbow colors. If you have to go through rubber bands like i did, tell your orthodontist to give you the heaviest kind they have. It will hurt more at first, but its one of the only ways to make it go faster. other than that, braces take a while and kinda suck. But now i have my retainer in, and im pretty glad i got them cause my teeth look pretty now =] its worth it, in the end. try to keep that in mind.
