Okay, I'm a pretty good actress when I'm around people I know. But I'm shy! UGH! The worst thing you can be when you want to be an actress. When I get up in front of someone I don't know I freeze up and I suck. Can anyone help me come out of my shell? Anyone been through what I'm going through as far as shyness taking over your dreams? Thanks!

dirtyxkitty answered Tuesday August 15 2006, 11:59 pm: Okay. I went through the exact thing. I consider myself an alright actress and I always liked acting. Recently I went to a camp with total strangers. After a day I left loose and starting to just make friends and talk to everyone. It was very fun, and then I got the lead role of Maria in West Side Story so I had to sing I Feel Pretty. AND infront of everyone. So when we rehearsed for the first time I felt really good about myself. Okay I know I go on and on about myself but you need to realize- you are good, and when you tell yourself that it helps you overcome. I think you should get to know people, and get to become friends with people so its really not a big deal when you audition and such. And its not like people are going to say 'haha you sucK!!' or even care if you make a mistake. Just go for it. =] [ dirtyxkitty's advice column | Ask dirtyxkitty A Question ]
