laycieee answered Sunday August 13 2006, 12:16 pm: Are you kidding?!?! In your pics you ARE skinny, I don't think you need to lose any weight, and you're really pretty so no one is probably staring at your body, but at your face. But if you really want to lose weight, then swimming is a really good way to do that. It let's you use your legs and your arms and it helps burn a lot of fat in those areas (and your stomach). Also bike riding is a really good way because you're using your legs. Instead of eating chips for a snack or whatever, pick a fruit (if your mom or dad doesn't buy really healthy foods then you can make a list of food for them to buy for you when they go shopping). Eating celery (alone) for a snack is a really really good way to drop pounds, and also when you make a ham or cheese or any kind of sandwich, add lettuce to it because it fastens your metabolism and decreases the amount of fat absorbed in your body. As I've heard and tried, Vitamin Water is really good for you and gives you the same amount of vitamins that you would need to take in daily to stay healthy. I know a lot of people hate doing this alone, but you could go out for 30 minute walks every day, or you could go out and buy one of those 30 minute walk videos (I own one) because they give you the same results. Also if you want to lose weight in the abdominal area, try 50 crunches a day and 10 sit-ups, whatever you choose. Keeping to your diet is the best possible way to lose weight, trust me. Because if you slip up a day, you're gonna be like well it's too late I just ate something bad so there's no way to take it back, but there is. Just remember what you want to look like and that'll give you enough drive to stick to it, and the results will be worth everything you put yourself through. Hope I helped, and don't go anorexic because you'll keep doing it until you lose 20-30 lbs, but then you'll start eating again and gain all of that and more back. So it's really unhealthy.
P.S: One of my friends went anorexic and lost a TON of weight, but then she started eating a little bit again and gained it all back +more, so please don't. [ laycieee's advice column | Ask laycieee A Question ]
ifonlytheskywasgreen answered Saturday August 12 2006, 11:53 pm: Yes it's not healthy, and I'm glad you realize that. Honestly, based on the pic (altho I couldn't see the rest since it's private), you don't look fat at all. There is no way you can lose that much weight in a short amount of time, and starving yourself should not be an option.
Honestly, it sounds more like these people are jealous of you, and I don't think you should try to change yourself in an unhealthy way so they'll stop the rumors, cause the fact is they WONT stop spreading things about you. They'll just find something else, trust me I've been in the same situation.
If you want to lose weight, eat healthy and good portions and excercise. It is the ONLY way, trust me I've tried everything else. Go bike riding, dance around in your room, do yoga. You'll see results.
