getting tested

Question Posted Friday August 11 2006, 5:30 pm

So me and my bofriend haven't had sex and are both virgins. But we do have sex play. He's the first guy I've ever done anything with besides kissing. He's waaay more experienced than me and he says he's been close to having sex before. Which could mean he's made sexual contact with other people, and I'm guessing he probably has..he's been doing that for awhile..[before we started dating] I don't know how many girls he's been with or whatever. But..I want him to get tested. The problem is, I don't know how to ask him to do that or anything. Because I'm afraid if I do he'll think that I think he's like disease-infested or something. And I don't. But the truth of the matter is you don't have to have sex for STDS to spread and anything is possible I mean half the time people don't even know they have like a STD or whatever...soo...IDK how to talk to him about this. We can talk about other stuff like sex, pregnancy, or whatever. But if I asked him to do this I'd feel kinda mean or whatever...IDK what to do. What should I do?
ALSO--he's in the navy so they require urine tests...would STDS show up?

You need to sit down with him and have a nice long talk. You should explain to him that getting tested would open you up more. Agree to get tested as well. That way, he doesn't think that you think he has something. Make sure he knows that you're only doing this to be safe.

Certain STDs can show up in urine tests, but they are rarely looked at and usually passed over. A blood test is the most efficient way to discover STDs inside the body.

I think STD's show up in urine. So he is probably clean of std's or would know about it if he has a urine test for the navy. but you should still talk to him about it. Just ask him if he has had an STD test and if he hasn't tell him your not trying to be rude or mean you just want to be safe and that you want him to get one.

i hope i helped =]
