friend is having a pool party...
my best friends birthday is tomorrow [8/11] and shes having a pool party. im going, but theres going to be a lot of people there [boys too] and im embarrassed of going in the pool since im 14&wear a one piece. im just not comfortable in a 2 piece. I tried asking my friend to not make me go in the pool but she says I have to. Plus on top of that i look absolutley HIDEOUS in a bathing suit. My thighs are just...awful. Im a very shy person and i know ill be embarrassed beyond what i could imagine, since im not exactly skinny. what should I do?

ok i am the same way, i don't like one pieces, but i don't want to "over expose" my-self in a two piece, i found something called a tankini, it is a two piece but it comes down low enough to where it only shows part of your mid section, you can get the tank in different sizes, you can get them where you can barely see any skin at all, then you can get them that are like 2 in. from the swim bottoms line. Just something that you might check out if you are really set on wearing a two piece. (i think i got mine at like JC Penny's or Kohls)

I have a problem similar to that except my ears poke out when my hair gets wet lol I think you should wear a 1 piece with board shorts and a shirt if your not comftorable with showing your skin. Or a 2piece with board shorts... If not just simply tell you friend that you"ll just put your feet in or just hand by the food corner (if they have one) if none of these work just be honest with her and tell her the truth if she's a friend she"ll understand

I'm sure you don't look hidous and i might be too late but i'll give you this anyway: If you mean a two-piece like a bikini there's an alternative, a tankini (it has regualer two-piece bottoms but doesn't show your stomach, you can also get boyshorts with it [they are bathing suit shorts that go maybe 6 inches down]). If your self consios about the top you could always where a t-shirt over. if it's just the bottem buy trunks (no seriosly) and where them over a black one piece. i would go with that because black will match any pattern and you won't be all hiding yourself. but mostly just remember no one's flawless. even the girls you think look perfect are probably all "does this make my butt look big?" Honestly, nobody really cares or notices how you look in a bathing suit if you are confident and look like you dont care. I've been to a bunch of boy/girl pool parties and if you are insecure the party's not as fun as it could be.
I'd actually wear a two piece, even if you are insecure, because it will show that you are confident of yourself and your body and that you don't care what other people think. Then they won't bother you.

well. i think that you should wear a 2 piece, but wear a tank top with it. it'll look cute and no one is going to say anything. plus, you can always go into the pool for a while to please your friend, and then get out and talk to people that arent in the pool and just wear your normal clothes. that way you can please your friend and not have to be in the pool all day.

I would just say try to have a blast! Try not to think of it. I mean when you are in the water, it's not like everyone will be looking @ you. Just enjoy it and try to suck it up for your best friend =].
