ok just run to exercise.
and balancing hw and exercizing isn't that hard. i run xc for about 2 hours after school and still have time to be in almost all AP classes. it all depends on how responsibly you manage your time.

i have sort of the same problem. i'm 15/f. it usually helps me to keep exercising regularly when i listen to music when i exercise (i do crunches and run on a treadmill usually). i also like to watch tv. set small goals for yourself... like, when you're swimming, put a cd player by the edge of the pool and turn your favorite CD up LOUD and just say, "okay, by the end of this song, i'll have so many laps swum" or whatever. but really, i would seriously recommend listening to music because it really gets you pumped up. and also, exercising gives you more energy for other stuff, like school work. so even though you may get tired, you're actually more alert in school and stuff. it really helps me to jog for like an hour the night before a big test or something. it takes my mind off of things a little. anyway, good luck!

Bro,

I started working out with weights at 12 years old, I went through the "overload" as some like to call it of high school work (though it's just expected and everyone is just lazy). The time is now- it's important to guys especially because when they're 12 and 14 they're going through lots of changes and growing.

You hate exercising because it's boring? Tough shit man...I despise jogging as I always have but it's a necessary evil so I do it and keep my whining to myself. Out of all the people a personal trainer gets to train...the little lazy teenagers are the worst because they think they're just so overloaded by schoolwork and their friends (and they think they know everything already anyway).

Enough...stop complaining and get out and exercise. It doesn't have to be swimming, do some push-ups and run and do some crunches..break a sweat, keep your whining to a minimum and smile during it. You'll thank yourself later on in life when everyone has heart disease who didn't exercise when the timing was right.

EDIT-

Sorry, but you needed it....at least now you know that you CAN find time to squeeze it in. That's real life man, and if you don't take care of yourself then no one else will. Get to it.

If you don't have a local indoor pool, still need to exercise but it bores you, how about trying something that involves others so at least you have company?
If that is not possible, you could take a walkman, ipod etc with you for company, also the rhythm of the music can help to keep you going. If you're concerned about things you need to learn at school, you could record facts etc onto a cassette and play that as you are walking/running, it may help to get over the joint problems of exercising and studying. It's not a nice position to be in and you have my sympathies.
Hope that helps and good luck.

Just wanted to add that places like the YMCA have
indoor pools. You might be able to get your parents to get you a membership if you have one near and you can swim year-round. :)

well there is always time for everything. I mean i know people, who take up 2 sports at the same time, and go to school, and have tons of homework and exercise and hang out and go to parties all at the same time. Can you believe that? i couldn't when i first heard it, but its actually true.

So all you have to do , is to listen to your doctor and do what he says because he knows whats good for you, and at the same time you can go to the pool at weekends and do what you want. But you still have to exercise like the doctor wants you.
And then when school starts, you can wake up early everyday and do some exercises and stretches like your doctor wants and then go to school and come back and do your homework, and then you would still have sometime at night if you want to hang out with a friend or something.
See ,so things could be settled down, and thought of clearly. And i know how much you hate exercising. But always look on the bright side, its something for your own good and it will make you feel alot better.
